What does it mean to be a CVR member?
Cumberland Valley Rising members are encouraged to attend general meetings, events, join committees, and attend any additional meetings they have time to attend. Most importantly members are expected to think critically and SHOW UP as a visible presence in Cumberland County defending and promoting our values.
Other Opportunities for Members/Non-Members to get involved:
Do you have a topic you want to learn more about? Choose which topics/speakers/training to set up for monthly meetings moving forward. Get approval from steering (formality), and contact/book presentations. Responsible for introducing speakers (get bios, provide information for agenda), logistics for presentation (projector? Screen? Multiple mics for discussion?), Manage Q&A sections (hand around wireless mics during Q&A).
Member Training Coordinator
There is an interest and a need for internal training for our membership on a variety of topics (racial justice, religion, activism, leadership, etc.). The existing committee is thinking about how best to coordinate and provide training. We really need people who have experience with these topics, providing these sorts of training, or organizing these sorts of resources.
